Maceo Plex & Shall Ocin at Club Space Miami February 28th
Club Space Miami: While Miami may not contribute as many DJ’s to the world as, say, Los Angeles, we still have quite a few who have gotten their start here. Cuban born (but Miami raised) Eric Estornel is one of them. Eric, better known by his stage name Maceo Plex, has been contributing to the deep house and techno worlds since the early 90’s and shows no signs of letting up.
Having since moved out of the Magic City, the now 36 year old has made a home in Valencia, Spain – we’re guessing because he’s a frequent guest DJ at Ibiza hot-spots Space and Amnesia. But long before headlining at music festivals and the worlds most notorious nightclubs, the man who would become Maceo Plex was just another body enthralled by the house music culture in the 1990’s. Maceo Plex, who also went by the moniker Maetrik, performed and released music under that name from 2001 to roughly 2012, with some overlapping where he was using both the Maetrik and Maceo Plex names.
Recent years have seen an increase in the amount of tracks Maceo Plex releases that include original tracks as well as remixes he’s done. His Soundcloud (minus the last 3 months) stays fairly updated with new tracks and remixes as well as full blown sets. This years Ultra Music Festival Phase 2 lineup was also just announced which included Maceo Plex headlining one of the stages on the opening night of Ultra Music Festival 2015 Miami!
But you don’t have to wait another entire month to see Maceo Plex because he’ll be at Club Space Miami on Friday, February 28th along with Shall Ocin!
