July 4th Weekend Miami: Back in 2006 Swedes Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom formed Dada Life. Now obviously we don’t know how far they thought they would go, but it’s almost hard to imagine that back in 2006 they envisioned themselves having the amount of mainstream success that they have had. Digging through the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s list, Dada Life debuted at #89. In 2011 they had one of the largest jumps we’ve ever seen and landed at the #38 spot. In 2012 they hit #24. They slipped a bit in 2013 but nonetheless, Dada Life is here to stay.

Dada Life has one of the largest, cult-like followings we’ve ever seen – regardless of genre of music. There was actually a petition in 2013 that asked the United Nations (yes that United Nations) to recognize Dada Life’s fake nation/country “Dada Land” as a sovereign country! I mean what?! And of course we all remember back in November of 2013 when Dada Life had a show quite literally raided by riot police because patrons outside charged the gates due to the event coordinators selling too many tickets which in turn left hundreds of paying ticket holders outside of the gates. Not that that was a direct result of anything Dada Life did, it just shows how much people love them and their music.

Every major holiday is huge for South Florida, especially for the nightclubs and bars. Well, July 4th weekend Miami is no different. Currently on a worldwide tour that is taking them everywhere from Vegas to Belgium, Dada Life will be performing at STORY Miami for ‘Merica’s Independence Day. Resident STORY Miami DJ, Mednas, will also be in the building on the 1’s and 2’s. Tickets for this event are only $30 for the ladies and $60 for the gentlemen and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE. VIP is also available at STORY Miami (as well as LIV) during the entire July 4th weekend Miami by calling VIP host David Gordon at 561-239-1200. The doors for this event open at 11pm.
