Mansion Miami: In January 2013, 22 year old Diamanté Blackmon, better known as DJ Carnage, took to twitter and said “I’m sorry people…but your not gonna be hearing alot of trap coming from me anymore…here and there…sure…but house is my trueee love.” He also tweeted “If u wanna be respected by me…dont just make music in one genre…versatile…and be GOOD at it…” – something that makes sense when combining the message at the core of the two tweets. Hip hop was, and I’m sure still is, something Carnage loved. But he wanted more – so he moved to trap, a blend of hip-hop/rap and house. Some fans were surely disappointed. But some, including us, were excited to hear about this evolution. Why? As Carnage says in the video above, “I came into this game for two reasons – to be the best and to scare the shit out of everybody else.” Well mission accomplished Carnage…mission accomplished.
One of Carnage’s most feared talents is his versatility. He has put out hip-hop tracks. He has put out trap songs. He has put out house music tracks. He’s played at shows big and small. He’s an ever-evolving artist – a rare breed these days. He’s accomplished a hell of a lot for a 23 year old.
Which is why we’re excited that on Friday, May 16th DJ Carnage will be performing at Mansion Miami! General admission tickets are available for just $30 by CLICKING HERE.
