Bamboo Miami: ATL rapper Jay Jenkins, better known as Young Jeezy, is one of hip-hop’s most prolific figures to come out of the last decade. Born in South Carolina, the Atlanta based Young Jeezy described his childhood as “empty” in an interview with XXL Magazine years ago – and you can feel some of his pain in his music – something all artists strive for but few ever achieve. Young Jeezy’s first mega-hit was the song “Icy” that was done in collaboration with Gucci Mane and Boo, although in the years following there has been controversy between Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy over the song that has resulted in multiple diss records directed at one another along with some very serious legal battles.

But much like the East Coast vs West Coast dilemma in the 90’s, both rappers have seen record sales skyrocket in the wake of their beef. Jeezy has released 4 studio albums along with over a dozen independent albums and mixtapes, with Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 and The Inspiration going Platinum. His two follow up studio albums (along with the previous two) have all hit in the top 3 on the U.S. Billboard Chart 200 and all hit #1 on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap Album charts making Young Jeezy a bonafide superstar. Jeezy is also a four time Grammy nominee.

But Young Jeezy will not be the only star in the building at Bamboo Miami on April 20th! New York Knicks power forward Kenyon Martin will also be in the building as DJ E-Feezy is on the 1’s and 2’s for a special edition of Prestige Sundays at Bamboo Miami.
