Not everyone gets a chance to go to Vegas. It’s not cheap and it’s one of the few places in the world designed to ensure you don’t leave with more money than you came with. So what if you could get a Vegas style night out on the town that was not only fun but also benefited a great local organization? Founded in 1955, the Young Patronesses of the Opera Miami has a mission to cultivate, promote and educate children on the art of opera within the community. In a time where state budgets are being slashed with education, specifically the arts, being hit hard it’s nice to see an organization take a stance in the community to help fill the voids. Young Patronesses of the Opera Miami is supported by a group of women and volunteers advocating educational music programs and the Florida Grand Opera. The group is also responsible for in school opera shows, teacher and girl scout workshops and even a national voice competition where gifted young opera singers can be rewarded scholarships through Young Patronesses of the Opera Miami.
Now what about the event? Imagine Cesars Palace stuffed inside the JW Marriott Hotel in downtown Miami. The Young Patronesses of the Opera Miami has dubbed their 58th Gala “Vegas Live” – perfect considering the all around theme. This upscale affair will be littered with Miami high rollers and starlets alike as everyone wines, dines and dances the night away. Imagine this: You pull up to the JW Marriott Hotel at 7pm and hand the keys over to the valet. You walk through the doors and BOOM – you’re in Vegas. Vegas showgirls greet you as you enter followed by Rat Pack crooners singing the ol’ tunes of classic vegas. And what would the Vegas Live gala be without Elvis impersonators? The Young Patronesses of the Opera Miami have thought of everything to turn the JW Marriott into Miami’s own little “Sin City” for the night!
The festivities also include honoring the gala’s chair ladies and paying special tribute to past President and life member, Louise Todaro, who dedicated 53 years of her life to servicing the Young Patronesses of the Opera Miami organization. Rounding out the evening will be a silent auction for incredible prizes like a $350 freshwater pearl necklace, $400 silk Asprey scarf, a $500 electric guitar, consultation and treatment at The Maercks Institute by Dr. Rian A. Maercks, M.D and everything in between! In total there are over 175 items being raffled off! To see a complete list of the items being raffled off, please CLICK HERE.
