According to their website, La Gloria Cuabana “set out to break the mold with the blend of the Artesanos Retro Especiale by cross-breeding a Connecticut seed, which was then cultivated in Honduras.”The La Gloria Cubana Artesanos Retro Especialé has a nice smooth, silky natural golden wrapper that has a nice sheen to it. Semi soft to the touch, the cigars pre-light aroma consists of some spice and wood with some slight undertones of butter and light cream. Draw is relatively effortless and produces some nice thick clouds. Spice is evident on the first half of the cigar accompanied by nutmeg, hay, earth and sparse pockets of cocoa throughout. The cigar has a nice even burn and holds a decent ash considering the effortlessness the draw is. Depending on an individuals palate, this cigar could fall into the light or medium bodied categories. With a price point of approximately $5 – $7, the La Gloria Cubana Artesanos Retro Especialé is here to stay.
