Martin Garrix at LIV Nightclub Miami August 4th
LIV Nightclub Miami: Having just turned 18 years old on May 14th of this year, Martin Garrix is, to our knowledge, the youngest big name DJ out right now. He quotes his idol (one of them at least) and inspiration for wanting to become a DJ was after seeing Tiesto perform at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Greece. Even as I typed that it didn’t seem right – considering 2004 wasn’t that long ago and he was only 8 years old. His young age has certainly led some to believe he’s either “no good” or “doesn’t know what he’s doing”, but it’s also permeated into some of his constituents as well.
Earlier this year at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Deadmau5, who was filling in for the “injured” Avicii, trolled Martin Garrix in a very public, and weird, way. During his set he played Martin Garrix’s track “Animals” that had been tweaked to sound like the “Old MacDonald Had A Farm” kids song – clearly mocking the young talent. Now although we do expect that from good ol’ Deadmau5, this seemed a bit over the top even moreso since it was at an event that people payed $300+ to attend. But like the old saying “there’s no such thing as bad publicity,” we’ll take it even further and say if Deadmau5 has a beef with you, you’re going to get a lot of exposure which, if you’re smart, could be turned into a very good thing. No matter what your opinion of Martin Garrix, remember one thing: He holds the title for being the youngest person to ever reach the #1 spot on Beatport. And that certainly garners some level of respect.
On Monday, August 4th, Martin Garrix will be performing at LIV Nightclub Miami for the official afterparty of the Guinness 2014 International Champions Cup. Afterwards the young heartthrob is off to Portugal, Spain, France and a host of other countries for his international tour. Being that this event isn’t on a weekend, that means ticket prices are way down! Tickets are only $30 and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE. For VIP information please contact LIV Nightclub Miami VIP concierge David Gordon at 561-239-1200. There will be a dress code enforced for this 21+ event. Doors open at 11pm.
