Scandalous Divas: From the rubble that was the American Civil War came a Federal holiday known as Decoration Day, a day dedicated to remember those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Now more commonly known as Memorial Day, the holiday still has it’s original meaning, even after all these years. It wasn’t until 1967 that Memorial Day received its official name under Federal law and, for many, is a day of somber remembrance.
In an effort to keep the long standing tradition of honoring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice Scandalous Divas – the brand behind Scandalous Sundays at The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles Beach – has put together a wonderful event for this Memorial Day Weekend in Miami that is taking place on Sunday, May 25th at The Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort.
Not only will Scandalous Divas be paying tribute to those who have lost their lives serving in the military but also to raise awareness and furthering the effort to stop bullying and help the suicide awareness movement. Hosted by Crystal Chanel & Calvin Early, Scandalous Divas also plans to highlight, and celebrate, Haitian heritage at this very special Scandalous Sunday event. DJ Stan will be taking care of the music for the night but while he sneaks in a few breaks in between, guests will be delighted by the sounds of the BT Jazz Band, Jai Rose & The Jai Rose Band, Lovie and J Horne. And when live music isn’t being played, attendees will be moved by the spoken word performances by Beloved, Rebecca “Butterfly” Vaughns and Jamal Shabazz as well as creative performances of the SOLEY Dancers and members of the Nest of Living Arts (NOLA).
Enjoy a night of raffles, entertainment, music, scrumptious food (if purchased) and philanthropy at Scandalous Divas‘ very special edition of Scandalous Sundays. Advanced tickets are just one for $15 or two for $25 and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE. For VIP and/or information regarding large parties or dinner reservations, please call 954-400-8948. Vendors will also be on site so you can pick up some great pieces of clothing or jewelry before the night is over. This event is from 7pm to midnight inside the Ballroom of the Newport Beachside Hotel located at 16701 Collins Avenue.
