Steve Angello Decade Miami: It’s almost hard to believe that it’s been a year since we last saw Swedish House Mafia at their final performance of their Farewell Tour, which coincided with Ultra Music Festival. Almost hard to believe. We emphasize ‘almost’ because, quite frankly, we’re excited about what Steve Angello and the rest of the gang have in store for us in the future. Fast forward from last year up to February of 2014 and we start hearing rumors…rumors of some sort of “special” event Steve Angello has planned. Then…BOOM! He announces Decade – an event so unbelievably bad ass that we refused to believe it at first, if not just to save ourselves from disappointment in case it was some sort of hoax.
Fast forward to now – roughly mid-March – just a few short weeks from Ultra, MMW 2014 and WMC 2014. Now we know all the juicy, heart pounding details that everyone is dying to know and I can’t believe I haven’t blurted them out in this piece already. Decade Miami is being held not in one of South Beach’s numerous fancy schmancy nightclubs or in Brickell – but in Wynwood. Yes you read correctly, Wynwood. And we couldn’t be more excited about it. Why? Because Wynwood is, depending on who you ask, the most unique and beautiful area in the greater Miami-Dade area. No it doesn’t have crystal blue water or beautiful people strolling around damn near naked (well…you might run into that. It is Miami afterall). But that’s precisely what we love about it. Swap out the beach and babes for buildings and adorn the buildings with the most exquisite street art you’ve ever seen. That is Wynwood. It has character and a story unparalleled in Miami. And a perfect place to hold Decade Miami.
On March 27th, at an abandoned RC Cola Plant (click here for a map), Decade Miami will take place. The event will feature Steve Angello, Thomas Gold, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, AN21, Max Vangeli, Third Party, Tim Mason and Nari & Milani and is one of our Editor’s Picks for Top Events during MMW 2014.
