Beer is the worlds oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic beverage. It is also the third most popular drink consumed, behind water and tea. Bet ya didn’t know that! These are just some of the fun facts about beer you’ll learn at Grovetoberfest. So what exactly is Grovetoberfest? Well, to keep it simple – it’s a day dedicated to everything beer that takes place in Peacock Park on Saturday, October 13th. A whole day of beer!? Why not? That’s always been our motto!

This 21+ event has quite literally a little bit of everything: Beer 101 classes, chef courses by Chef Lou Ramirez and others, demos by BX Beer Depot on how to brew your own beer, live music all day and of course, an afterparty at The Grove Spot!

Kicking off at 4pm (for General Admission – VIP entry starts at 3pm) with Red Skies taking to the Bougainvillea’s Live Music Stage with the best new age 70’s and 80’s hits it’s sure to get everyone in the mood. Starting at 4pm and happening every half hour until 5:30 are the Miami Kitchen Labs cooking demo’s featuring Chef’s Michell Sanchez, Michael Schwartz, Nedal Ahmed and Andre Bienvenu – then concluding at 6:30pm with celebrity Chef Ralph Pagano*. In the case the featured Chef’s make you hungry, there will be awesome food vendors inside for you to get your grub on! In between the Kitchen Lab’s you can catch the Beer 101 Classrooms where you can learn all about the world of beer, which is headed by Matthew Weintraub who is an instructor at the F.I.U Beer Acadamy (yes you read correctly – a school for beer).

BX Beer Depot is even sponsoring a “Miami’s Best Homebrew Contest” for those that have entered the contest by September 30th (if you snooze you lose, no exceptions! For official rules click HERE). But wait! It get’s even better! The winner’s beer will be featured in at least one bar and/or restaurant in Miami! Of course a trophy and bragging rights will also be awarded to the winner, but Grovetoberfest will also pay for your supplies so you can make another batch of your award worthy brew. So if you’re a self proclaimed brewmeister, there’s no excuse for you not to be in the contest!

Safety of the patrons of Grovetoberfest is a top priority for the organizers of the event so there will be plenty of ways for you to get to and from Grovetoberfest without putting your life, as well as anyone else’s life, in any sort of danger. Car2Go, Miami’s newest (and badass) mode of transportation is an option for those who have a Car2Go account and don’t want to drive their own vehicles. They also have the Safe Ride Home Programs (more information about the program can be found HERE).

With general admission tickets starting at $39 and VIP tickets starting at $89 there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be at Grovetoberfest 2012! Get your tickets now HERE!
