This all organic wine hailing from Chile is a combination of 87% Carmenère, 4% Syrah, 4% Petit Verdot, 4% Tempranillo, and 1% Malbec, making quite a combination. The wine is a deep garnet red in color with hints of chocolate and spice (specifically black pepper) on the nose as well as some undertones of ripe cherry. This medium bodied wine has a mouth feel of a full bodied wine without the overly harsh tannins some don’t like about full bodied wines. On the palate hints of chocolate and cherry continue but are now accompanied by blackberry, which was a wonderful marriage. As you finish the wine you taste the smooth oakiness from the French Oak barrels the wine was aged in. Very well balanced wine that most people would find enjoyable, being not too light but not over bearing. Excellently blended wine.
