Life Is Art 6 Year Anniversary January 31st at Hotel Astor Miami Beach

Life Is Art 6 Year Anniversary: The Miami Heat. The Miami Dolphins. The Miami Hurricanes. The University of Miami. The Port of Miami. South Beach. Nightlife. Miami Vice. The best Cuban sandwich you’ll ever have. You name it and Miami is probably (or has been at one point) known for it. However, there is one aspect of Miami that doesn’t get talked about as much – charity work, philanthropy and non-profits.

Founded back in 2009, Life Is Art has been at the forefront of Miami’s ever growing art and philanthropy scene. James Echols, Life Is Art’s founder, is a man who knows one thing and one thing well – Miami. However Life is Art isn’t just about Miami – it goes much deeper than that. It’s about the community, the culture and the people that make those two possible. Even still, that wasn’t enough for James and Life Is Art, so they went even deeper. How is that possible you ask? By creating events that bring the community, the culture of the community and the people that make up the culture and community, together. Over the last 6 years Life Is Art has either produced or co-produced over 60 events that have ranged from art themed events to local business support & education events, all in the name of bettering our city.

“At that time, we saw that, while Miami seemed to be experiencing a growing art scene, with all the new fairs, festivals and galleries, the artists of Miami were being left behind. Few of them were given the opportunity to show in these fairs, festivals, galleries and museums in Miami” says James Echols. Now with the rise of Miami’s Wynwood Art District, events like Art Basel Miami, the growing popularity in local Miami artists and the support Life Is Art has conjured for our cities artists, we think it’s safe to say that our art and artists won’t be leaving Miami anytime soon.

So now it’s time to give back and give thanks to Life Is Art Miami. On Saturday, January 31st Life Is Art will be hosting a celebration and fundraiser at the newly renovated Astor Social Club in South Beach’s own Hotel Astor from 7pm – 11pm that will include live music from The Bows Ties, Montserrat Franco and a special performance by VH1’s Tough Love Miami star Jane “Jei” Castro. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Local artists like Ileana Collazo will be live painting while DJ Hank Justice is on the 1’s and 2’s.

Oscar Fuentes aka The Biscayne Poet will be performing live typewritten poetry and Freshly Squeezed will be providing free mini massages. Complimentary drinks will be provided by Blue Nectar Tequila along with a full cash bar. In typical Life Is Art fashion, if it is (or can be) considered art, chances are they’ll be at Life Is Art’s 6th year anniversary celebration!

Aside from celebrating their 6th anniversary, as part of the festivities Life Is Art will also be receiving a Proclamation from the City of Miami for their work in the community!

Tickets will be $75 at the door but with this special code you can save yourself $25 by entering LIA6 at checkout when you CLICK HERE! But don’t wait! That promo code expires at 4pm the day of the event!

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: With all the amazing work Life Is Art has and will continue to do in our incredible city, please consider making a donation to their cause as they are a 501(c)3 non-profit. You can make a donation by CLICKING HERE. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. – Tony Vainosky
