2015 CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami January 31st

2015 CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami: Although craft beer isn’t particularly “new”, it is in it’s own way. Craft beer, also referred to as microbrewing, has seen a large increase popularity over the last 5-10 years. What was once made in small, local microbreweries, has now found its way into people’s homes by way of microbrewery kits. Now instead of heading down to the local watering whole men (and women, women love beer too) can just go out into the garage and pour some of their own home-brewed brew! 2013 statistics show that out of the overall $100 Billion beer market, craft beer makes up roughly $14.3 Billion.

Now that you know how big the craft brewing market is it should come as no surprise that there are festivals dedicated to the craft (no pun intended). In comes Jennifer Massolo, a 20 year veteran of the industry who has worked for everyone from Remy Martin to Concha y Toro. Jennifer, utilizing her background in the industry and expertise, ultimately founded CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival and saw the first festival come to fruition in 2013. Now in it’s second year, CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami is changing things up a bit in 2015.

Now spread out over 2 days, CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami will have a trade only day dedicated to those currently working within the industry that will take place on Friday, January 30th from noon to 3pm while the consumer Tasting Gallery Experience will take place on Saturday, January 31st from 4pm to 7pm at The Fillmore located inside the Jackie Gleason Theatre in South Beach. This article will be focused solely on the consumer show of CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami.

In its inaugural year CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami attracted more than 500 consumers and boasted over 400 artisanal spirits and beers from all over the U.S. so with all the buzz about this years event, the sky is the limit. Where other events and festival style events lack, however, is when it comes to the other portion of beer and cocktails – the food. CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami differentiates itself by bringing in the food aspect of the industry – after all we do have to eat. So why not show people what, and how, to pair food with their beer and cocktails? That’s the essence behind CRAFT Spirits and Beer Festival Miami.

Miami restaurants (along with their corresponding Chefs) participating in the event include Conor Hanlon from The Dutch, Roel Alcudia from The Cypress Room, Jeremiah from Gastropod, Kris Wessel from Oolite, Phil Bryant from The Local 150 and Andres Barrientos from Miami Smokers BBQ.

You have two options when it comes to tickets – general admission and VIP admission. VIP tickets not only get you in an entire hour early (3pm rather than 4pm) but it also grants you access to spirits and beers that will not be available once general admission ticket holders are allowed in. Your VIP ticket will also give you access to more food that won’t be available after 4pm.
