Mansion Miami: Borgore, born Asaf Borger, is a unique talent in the electronic music world. Why? He’s a DJ from Israel, which isn’t too common at the present moment. But that also might give him (potentially) a very different perspective on the world and the music he creates. At only 26 years old, Borgore stormed onto the scene in 2009 and hasn’t looked back. If you’ve ever listened to any of Borgore’s tracks you notice the not-so-subtle heavy metal influences in his music, which he calls “Gorestep” (dubstep + Borgore = gorestep). The reasoning behind that is he was actually a drummer for a deathcore band in Israel that went by the name Shabira.
His emergence into the music scene is similar to how fellow dubstep artist Skrillex came about – leaving behind a band in lieu of a solo career. Borgore is also one-half of the dubstep duo Alphamale Primates along with fellow artist Tomba. Now over the last few years we’ve seen somewhat of a transformation with Borgore – going from his signature “gorestep” sound to trap, which many associate to his Dim Mak Records released track “Wild Out EP” that featured rapper Waka Flocka Flame. Possibly a sign of going a little more mainstream? Perhaps. But Borgore can do no wrong in our eyes – plus he has his own record label “Buygore” so he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants.
Apparently one of the things Borgore wanted to do while on tour is to play at the Opium Group run Mansion Miami in bustling South Beach, so that’s what he will be doing on Friday, May 9th! With at exactly 3 days and 23 hours until Borgore invades Mansion Miami, time is running out! But fear not, The Local Miami is here and we have all the quick links you need to get in to Mansion Miami to see Borgore! General admission tickets are just $30 and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE.
