STORY Nightclub: Most DJ’s and producers that grace the digital archives of events here at The Local Miami usually have one thing in common – they’re Dutch. Well, DJ Chuckie is no different. However, he doesn’t come from the Netherlands, as many of his colleagues do. He is actually from Suriname which, coincidentally, is a Dutch territory. A little “tomato-tomahto” to us, but hey – not everyone knows. Chuckie actually got into DJ’ing spinning hip-hop, but quickly changed course when he “realized there weren’t many girls attending such events.” Wise move if you ask us – after all that’s what House music is all about right? Peace, love, unity and respect. Chuckie also has the prestigious honor of getting Miley Cyrus kicked out of VIP at an event because she flicked him off, an honor we imagine not too many people have. He’s a straightforward guy and a no nonsense DJ – two of the many reasons we love when he comes to Miami.
On January 17th DJ Chuckie will be heading to STORY Nightclub in Miami Beach alongside Story’s resident DJ, Dave Sol. If you’ve ever seen DJ Chuckie play, you know it’s one Hell of a party.
