The Performing Arts Exchange, better known as PAX Miami, is a 3,200 square foot floor plan that is perfect for film screenings, concerts, theater plays, art exhibitions and shows and even fashion shows. On any given week, the PAX calendar is filled with events and shows such as School of Rock, Spam Allstars, Grand Funk Thursday and PALO (which is a HUGE favorite of locals in Miami). The wide variety of shows and exhibitions held at PAX is all meant to advance cultural diversity through the arts – something that seems to be disappearing from schools across the United States.
But every last Saturday of the month PAX Miami hosts “The Laugh It Up Comedy Showcase” which, as the name certainly suggests, is a stand up comedy routine. PAX brings in talented comics from all corners of the U.S. for their monthly comedy showcases – and Augusts show is chock full of talent. Mary Celine Smith-Millan, Juan Felipe Ortega and Chris Flanagan will be performing as host Sean Ramrattan directs the show. The main act, however, is Ashley Fils-Aime – a talented comic that is part of the Pablo Francisco International Comedy Tour and also happens to be a regular at Miami Improv. Fils-Aime has toured much of Europe including Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Amsterdam and Norway and has also performed as far away as Iceland and Australia. Adding a few more notches to his belt, Fils-Aime has also been on shows like MTV’s Sink or Swim, SiTV’s Stand-up Comedy Showcase and Australian comedy movie “How I Became A Vegetarian”. Ashley Fils-Aime has certainly propelled himself as a rising star in the comedy world and we can only see him getting bigger as the years go by – so don’t miss your chance to see this great lineup of comedians!
This event takes place Saturday, August 31st from 8pm to 10pm at PAX Miami. Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased by [CLICKING HERE]. This event is reserved for those 21+.
