Thanksgiving – one of the few times a year we throw our diets out the window and over indulge in mom’s pasta dishes, abuela’s pollo paella and grandpa’s highly guarded fried turkey recipe. But hey, it’s Thanksgiving and it’s family so we think everyone gets a pass.

But with it being Thanksgiving, there’s that much more pressure to cook a meal for a small army that still tastes incredible. Fortunately for the cooking deficient (or for those looking for a little extra ‘oomph’), Four Seasons Hotel Executive Chef Aaron Brooks and his team of culinary masters have a popup cooking class on the beautiful pool deck of The Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday, November 17th from 2pm – 4pm that will show you how to have a Miami style Thanksgiving!

Now since we tend to have beautiful weather here year round and love to cook out on the grill, this cooking class was MADE for Miami. Chef Brooks, along with his Sous Chef Jose Gamez, will be showing you how to master the art of BBQ and will even be showing you how to grill a turkey! (We didn’t even know you could do that!) With the skills, techniques and tricks you learn at this popup cooking class, we know you’ll go home and be able to create your own Miami style Thanksgiving that pleases everyone.

Some of the other recipes being covered are

  • Shrimp off the barbie, Mexican corn and a cilantro hot sauce

  • Mesquite smoked turkey ‘steaks’, grilled autumn vegetables, brown sugar baked sweet potatoes and cranberry chutney

  • Grilled “baked” crab apples, salted crumble, coconut rum caramel sauce, Tahitian vanilla bean whipped cream

*Class is $135. Classes include a welcome cocktail, beer and wine to enjoy during class, a take-home gift bag and of course, plenty of snacking and new skills that your friends and family are sure to enjoy.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling (305)381-3190 or by e-mailing EDGE@edgesteakandbar.com

About Chef Aaron Brooks

Hailing from Australia, Chef Aaron Brooks, for all intents and purposes, is what we would call a huge foodie. Working at Four Seasons‘ kitchens from Vancouver all the way to Boston (and now located in Miami) Chef Aaron Brooks knows what good food is and how it’s created. Brooks now heads EDGE Miami, a modern steakhouse that is the dining centerpiece of The Four Seasons Hotel.
